Use cfgshow command to display zone configuration details.

  • No Operand: Displays all zone configuration information, including both defined and effective configurations. If there is an unsaved zoning transaction on the local switch, it shows the most recently edited configuration. Otherwise, it displays the committed configuration.
  • Pattern Specified: Only configurations matching the pattern are displayed.

Configuration Types

  • Defined Configuration: Represents all zone objects defined in the fabric. Multiple zone configurations may exist, but only one can be enabled at a time. The defined configuration reflects the current administrator input and may include inconsistencies, such as undefined references or duplicate members.
  • Effective Configuration: Represents the single enabled zone configuration. This configuration determines device visibility in the fabric. It is finalized and error-checked when a specific zone configuration is enabled.

Warnings and Special Cases

  • After a zoning transaction is aborted, a warning message appears:
"Warning: Current Zoning Transaction was aborted. Reason code = Zone Config update received."
  • When default zoning is enabled with No Access mode, the following message is displayed:
    "No Effective configuration: (No Access)"
